AOI Operator

Location: Fremont, CA

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00/hour

Shift: 1st Shift


Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced AOI Operator to inspect electronic assemblies using Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment on an SMT production line. This role requires prior hands-on AOI inspection experience and a strong understanding of SMT processes, workmanship standards, and quality requirements within a manufacturing environment.


Responsibilities

  • Inspect SMT assemblies using AOI equipment and review inspection results
  • Identify, verify, and classify defects per IPC and internal quality standards
  • Follow ESD, board handling, and MSD requirements at all times
  • Verify workmanship and process compliance per work instructions and control plans
  • Communicate defects and trends to operators, supervisors, and quality personnel
  • Assist with AOI program validation, optimization, and false-call reduction as needed
  • Support ISO, quality, and 6S initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years of AOI inspection experience in an SMT manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with AOI systems (e.g., Viscom, Omron, Koh Young, Mirtec, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of SMT components, solder joint acceptance, and defect criteria
  • Basic computer skills and ability to navigate AOI software and documentation systems
  • Ability to perform detailed, repetitive inspection work with a high level of accuracy
